Quinty's Story

From a very young age, Quinty van der Geest (Quinty's) knew she wanted to take the stage as a singer and songwriter. Like many young girls, little Quinty would stand in front of the mirror, belting out songs into a hairbrush, singing along to her idols like Taylor Swift and dreaming of one day performing her own music on international stages.

Her ambitious mom, who has always been her true biggest role model, showed her that anything is possible when you give it your all. Taylor Swift gave her the courage to envision life as an artist. And even Cinderella had a part to play, teaching her the timeless lesson: “Have courage, be kind, and believe in magic.” Inspired by these (fictional) women, Quinty began visualizing her own ambitions at the age of 15, guided by her personal mantra:

"Feel to be Real"

Now at 23, Quinty lives by this powerful phrase both as a person and as an artist: “Authenticity starts with feeling. When you allow yourself to feel, you live from your true self.” The words are even tattooed on her upper left arm, a permanent reminder to stay vulnerable, show her true self, and connect with others through life, her music, her tone, and her storytelling.

At 16, Quinty moved to the U.S. for a year as a high school exchange student. That's where the young artist fell in love with country/pop music. With the soft melodies, the relatability, and above all, the warmth of the genre. Her music is known for its universal appeal. “We all go through similar things in life. There are ups and downs for everyone. That’s what connects us as humans,” she explains. “I write about longing, dreams, and the ‘what ifs’... but I also love writing a bolder message in my songs or something with a nostalgic touch.”

Selling her music rights to fans

To take her music career to the next level, Quinty made an innovative move in October 2023: she became the first independent artist to sell the rights to her music directly to her fans. In doing so, she created a strong, invested community that’s part of her musical journey from the start. “Selling the rights to my music lets us share the success with the people who believed in me before the rest of the world caught on. It creates a unique bond, everyone becomes a part of my journey.”

Thanks to her fresh perspective and musical releases, Quinty’s strategy quickly began turning heads in the industry. She connected with Jens Munnik (Wulf), and together with David Westmeijer (Miss Montreal / BENR) and Jochem Fluitsma (Guus Meeuwis / Ruth Jacott / Lois Lane), they co-wrote the single “Aiming High.” Fluitsma described the collaboration as “truly inspiring.”

Quinty’s single "Find Its Way' debuted on radio in the USA. Her song “Rolling On A Dime” reached the No. 2 spot on Spotify’s Country & Americana playlist and was featured in EQUAL Benelux, a program highlighting female artists. And with her first Christmas single Mistletoe Kissin' reached the top 150 chart.

After collaborating with Golden Earring, performing for organizations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and playing her first headlining show in December 2025, Quinty is making her way abroad to Canada. Her music is honest, warm, and vibrant; a sound where emotion and strength come together effortlessly.
